Group of students from the Indian subcontinent started playing cricket in the Fargo - Moorhead area. The obvious reasons for them to start playing, a game that is usually played from a very young age and runs usually in the blood and culture of the subcontinent, was to make themselves feel at home and to keep themselves fit in a fun way. At this time the game was being played only in the indoor facilities. The growing strength of international students from India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Nepal in the Tri-College institutions of NDSU, MSU, and Concordia made it a popular weekend game. With continuosly increasing interest and number of students who wanted to play and compete the first "Cricket Club" was formed at NDSU.

At the start of the club there were around 15-20 members who were part of it. Before it could be recognized by the Congress of Student Organization (CSO) as an ogranization with good standing the member count increased to around 40. Currently, the count has increased to around 100-150 members. Some of our current members are from the following nations India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, West Indies (Carribean), England and U.S.
